Usually, when we think of "fixing" damaged hair or maintaining healthy hair we automatically jump to the solution of using hair masks, oils, or heat protectant sprays. Unfortunately, customers are easily deceived when their hair is left feeling thicker and silky smooth after only one use of the drugstore product. The reason why this happens is not because of the moisturizing nourishment the ingredients provide, but because of a waxy substance that coats the hair, commonly mistaken for a healthy, intense shine. Basically, the hair feels moisturized without actually being moisturized from within. With continued use of these products, the customer might notice that their hair starts to feel brittle, dry and heavy, and usually will experience fast color fading after a hair color service. Instead of switching to high end brands after this experience, people think that their hair is getting "used to the product" so they have to switch to a new drug store brand after a certain amount of time. The truth is, hair should never be "getting used to" a product. With consistent use of high-end products, hair will always feel healthy and nourished simply because of the high quality ingredients.
